So after a late change by the Slovakian FA it looks like the match will be played in the 13,000 seater stadium in Zilina(2.30hrs from bratislava)
This is the route we are taking for anyone interested in coming:
12th oct Dublin to Bratislava Ryanair 8am
13th oct Bratislava to London Stansted and London Stansted to Dublin
or Bratislava to Dublin 11.05am
I believe we have a 10% allocation of tickets yet to be confirmed from the FAI which is 1300 tickets so should be ok to get one.
We are staying in the City Hotel Bratislava. Its near the airport as going to be a short trip.
All the flights and hotel was no more than 130 euro. If you want any help in booking or any details please get in touch.

Hi,
Where do you get the tickets from? how are ye going from bratislava to zilina. were flying into budapest for couple of days and heading to bratislava then.
Tickets will come from the FAI. Supposedly there will be a 10% allocation to the Irish which is 1300 tickets as the stadium in Zilina holds 13000. Preference will be given to vantage club members, block bookers and some travel agents.
Its hard to estimate how many will travel but it may be tight to get a ticket but send me an email and I may be able to look after you.
There are trains from Bratislava to Zilina running through the day. It takes just under 3 hours to get to.
To get back to Bratislava we are trying to organise a bus but we may have to take the 2.40am train from Zilina to Brataslava.
Hope to see you at the game!!
12 of us from donegal flying into vienna on 10th staying in bratislava for 4 nights . we dont have any tickets so any info on availability appreciated . interested in the bus back from zilina as well
I’ll keep you informed closer to the date. The best idea would be to arrange a bus back from Zilina after the match as the next train is not until 2.40am and you can’t be guaranteed a seat on that as there may be alot of Slovakian fans on the train also.
Alright lads,
Is the majority of fans still staying in Bratislava? This is a load of pony about zilina.Any idea how many will be travelling need match tickets!
yep, most people will be staying in Bratislava. The first train out of Zilina is 2.40am but it seems everyone will be going for this. I’m trying to organise a bus from zilina to bratislava after the game. Will post details closer to the game

According to the FAI its not fully confirmed yet if Slovak FA will be allowed to move the match to Zilina at such short notice.
Our usual gang of 4-5 are staying in Old Town in Braislava for 2 nights and am wondering is it easy to book trains and buses to & from Zilina and will it cost much.
Was in Bratislava 3 years ago and its good crack there.
Group of us flying into Bratislava on sat morning and will probably head to Zilina on the Tuesday. Are people staying in zilina for the night on the Tuesday? Have applied to the FAI for tickets.
There are 6 of us travelling, will be in Bratislava on Mon, if there is a bus going from Brat on the Tues or if there is one coming back from Zilina after the game we would be very interested.
I’ll post up any info regarding tickets or the bus here coming up to the game
Register the interest for the bus here http://ybig.ie/forum/forum_posts.asp?TID=21509&PN=11 and if anyone has any slovakian friends we could do with the help. Thanks

Gaz, just wondering have ye already reserved a train seat for the tues morning or ye just arriving at bratislava station and buying a ticket there? Not sure if trains will be sold out and therefore getting to Zilina could be an issue.
David,
A slovak guy on the forum on ybig.ie said the below
You can buy train tickets on http://www.slovakrail.sk They wont be sold out on tuesday. And if you buy ticket for the train is MUST be the time of the one you are getting. You can’t buy a general ticket.
I am Irish but have relatives in Slovakia. Let me know if you need any help or directions.
Would have contacts to lay on a bus etc

Travelling from Lux to Bratislava. Staying in the capital. Slovak lad at work says trains to Zilina won’t be a problem. Can’t get FAI to commit to tickets so in limbo at the mo despite shelling out for flights and hotel as a few of ye other lads appear to be! Fingers crossed.
Hey,
if anyones going by train are they interested in meeting in bar before hand or something and all try to get the same train there? Would it be safer in numbers travelling?
5 of us flying into Krakow before travelling to Zilina. No tickets yet though. Does anyone know where we might get some?
I’m living in the Czech Rep and want to get over for the match. Any chance of getting a ticket and if so how much?
Cheers
I still haven’t got a ticket yet, and it looks like I wont be getting one either. So instead of going to Zilina, does anyone know of anywhere in Bratislava itself that we could all meet up before the game, and get some session going? Just like so many of us did under the Eiffel Tower last year.
I would like to meet up in Bratislava as well… let us know please! smilest@gmail.com
i too am in a pickle, 7 of us are making a european trip into a serious european trip, Mon we fly dublin – birmingham. then we fly to krakow. stay 1 night in krakow before getting a train down to Zilina, slovakia. FAI only allocated us 5 tickets so me and one of the lads are short. any tips?
Posted on the fai website:
The FAI today confirmed that it has arranged free train transport between Bratislava and Zilina to accommodate supporters travelling to Slovakia for next week’s UEFA European Championship qualifier.
With the match having been switched from Bratislava to Zilina, many travelling supporters were concerned that they would experience difficulty attending the match. However, the FAI has arranged a complementary train to transport supporters between the two cities.
The one-day return service will depart from Bratislava’s Hlavna Stanica station. Supporters who wish to travel need to arrive at the station at 1.45pm. The train will depart at 2.30pm and will arrive at Zilina at 5.00pm. The train will depart Zilina at midnight to return to Bratislava.
John Delaney, Chief Executive Officer of the FAI, said: “When this fixture was switched from Bratislava to Zilina, we were aware that it had the potential to cause difficulty for travelling supporters. We are very fortunate to bring such a large number of supporters to our away matches and we wanted to make sure that the loyal Irish fans are able to get to the stadium and back to their hotels. The train service which we have organised will be free of charge and is a small gesture of our appreciation for their incredible dedication, which makes them amongst the best fans in the world.”
